CirKle - recycled materials for aircraft cabin components
The project focuses on the development of recyclable fiber composites for aircraft cabin applications. The goal is to promote environmentally friendly aviation in two ways: reducing the weight of the aircraft cabin increases energy efficiency and reduces pollutant emissions. Recyclable cabin components enable a reduction in resource consumption during manufacturing. These challenges are addressed through the use of recycled carbon fibers and recyclable matrix systems. The research focuses on novel and practical recycling concepts in sandwich structures using vitrimers as matrix materials.
